Policies & FAQs

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you like what you see. If you have a question that is not addressed in the information below, send me an email using the envelope icon in the header.

Allergen Information

My home and work space are smokefree. The vast majority of my yarns have wool content. Check item descriptions for exact fiber content. Also, I have cats and although I take special care to keep the cats away from my products, I cannot guarantee that my yarns are allergen-free.

Pricing

My prices are based on the price I paid for the yarn and what dyeing technique I used to achieve a certain look.
There are three tiers.
Tier 1: Semi-solid and tonal skeins
Tier 2: Self-striping & 6-color rainbow gradients (most of my yarns are in this category)
Tier 3: Long gradient progression (e.g. 6 colors in wide stripes, more than 6 shades, or colors in a gradient progression on one skein).

Payment

I only accept Paypal payments. As of April 2010, prepayment is required for all custom orders.

Shipping

I will ship your items within 2 business days of received payment via USPS First Class or Priority depending on shipping weight of the package. I may also reuse mailing envelopes whenever possible. Once an item is picked up by USPS, the delivery time if fully dependent on the US Postal Service.

I generally do not sell internationally. With the new EU VAT laws, I will not be enabling sales to EU countries. Sales to Canada can be arranged via email. Actual shipping costs and some handling charges may apply. Anything shipped with a customs form will NOT be marked as a gift and buyers are responsible for any VAT or import tax upon receipt.

Refunds and Exchanges

Please contact me immediately if there is a problem. I will accept returns of items in original condition if received back within 14 days of sale. Refunds will be for the item’s purchase price, minus the original shipping charge. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

FAQs

Are you able to repeat colorways?

Most often, yes. If you see a colorway you like, but it is sold out or you need more yardage, email me about a custom order using the envelope icon in the header. If a colorway is non-repeatable, it will be noted in the item description.

Are you able to take custom orders?

Yes, if you have an idea for a new combination of colors or something just slightly different than what I have available, email me about a custom order using the envelope icon in the header.  Prepayment of custom orders is required before I will begin dyeing yarn or fiber. Some colorways are not repeatable and may not be eligible for custom order.

Care instructions

I recommend hand washing of items made from hand dyed yarns even if the wool yarn is superwash. Gentle machine washing in cold water (of superwash items) may be desired, however, machine drying is NEVER recommended.

I cannot be held responsible for any color loss due to abusive laundry conditions.

Wholesale availability

I do not offer wholesale pricing for large orders.
